Part of the attraction is the danger and unpredictability of their nature. The risk of violence and (un)death is heightening in many situations. Adrenalin junky, extreme sports dudes, anyone?
I don't get Twilight, it's an abomination. However, I'd be the 'meat' in a Bill & Eric sandwich any day.
I love Frankenstein but for me it is a tragedy not a horror. Bram Stoker's Dracula is on my list of books to read. I'm finding it particularly difficult to get my hands on a 2nd hand copy that isn't edited or abridged or otherwise tampered with.
Noice read MD! :o)Cinnamonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01304273087043059062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-841509841753055981.post-86638800492169162642010-10-28T14:47:50.762-07:002010-10-28T14:47:50.762-07:00Oh! I remember being seduced by vampires through my teens and early twenties - Brad and Tom put the cherry on the cake... I have not understood the 30-somethings that gurgle over Edwho? and this story. As you point out, it ain't new - it's seduced our romantic tendencies for a number of years, just in a different form - and Meyer has just been a clever enough to add the vampire element.

Give me a good Orson Scott Card any day. Oh, and /lol "Just watch One [ONE] Wonderful Episode of Sesame Street, ah, ah, ah."Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00239240200040699244noreply@blogger.com
